Great presentations and it's good to meet a lot of like minded people.

After meeting everyone and a short talk to Dinah, I've decided to start the Joomla User Group for Adelaide. I think it is just big enough to support a user group over there and even host a Joomla Day event.

I'm a very newbee Joomla user, just early days researching and testing suitability and features at this stage, but very interested. Considering a Joomla implementation for a school intranet.

I've organised a web design and development meetup in Adelaide before but that never really took off. Joomla has a decent community behind it and I believe will be much better.

We're aiming to have our first meet up in July.

So that gives a good month for members to show their interest towards the group.

As we gain more and more clients here in Adelaide we've found that we have a big enough basis to start the Adelaide Joomla User Group properly. The first ever Adelaide JUG will be held in mid November 19th, 2008 at the office of PB Web Development on Rundle Street.

The first session will be an primarily an introduction to the system for a lot of the new users in town. Think of it as a quick training session.

It will also give various designers, developers and small businesses a chance to show case some of their latest works and network with other Joomla designers and Joomla developers in Adelaide, hopefully bringing advertising agencies, small businesses and freelancers together working in partnership.

If you are interested in giving a presentation on a topic for the night then please contact us so we can arrange a schedule.

Registration will be just $10.00 for the night and will include drinks and nibbles.

It will be a great introductory night and a great networking session for all involved.
