Hi all,

I'm pondering whether or not to attempt to create my own plugin. I'm not really a programmer, so it's all a bit scary.

I want to create a "Print to ePub" function for my sites. I've checked out the joomla forum and extensions area, and I can't find anything (I find this a bit surprising with the explosion of ereaders but I digress).

Anyway, I don't know where to start.

I'm assuming I could somehow leverage the current "print" button in Joomla which effectively is a plain print stylesheet (I think) but it seems like a good starting point. From there, convert to HTML and then....um.

Has anyone tried a similar project? Suggestions, maybe? I'm fooling myself, aren't I?

Sue

Hi Sue.

If you are not familiar with PHP then writing a plugin is going to be an uphill battle (no way to sugar coat it, sorry). A Print-to-ePub would probably require a supporting component that would be above beginner grade. Probably best to look at commissioning someone to make it for you.

Thanks for that. Yes, I thought that might be the case. I will look at trying to get someone to get it happening for me.
