You have made a very wise choice. I attended the three day workshop last year with Bruce himself and had already been doing SEO for a number of years. I was not sure how much I already knew and what I didn't know before I attended that course.
Many of the concepts I was already familiar with, but there was so much I didn't know as well.
I have been through the Stompernet training and general SEO and by far, this was one of the most in depth training course on SEO I have ever done. The one day will be a great course for you as an introduction and a kickstart.
In fact, if I have the time, I might even go myself.
