I have an issue that I hope someone can answer.

I have a strange Joomla issue that has popped up and I have never seen before.

Anytime I insert Javascript in to an Article, K2 Item, module, configuration parameters of a component, module or plugin or almost anything that requires saving information in to the database if get disabling features in the scripts.

Simple JS such as:

onMouseOut will get changed to on-Mouseout

and JS calls such as

<script type="javascript will get changed to <s-cript type="j-avascript

The above mentioned happens when inserting the ShareThis code in to the global parameters of k2.

JCE is configured properly but in most cases JCE isn't even being initiated for it to be an issue.

Anyone have any ideas?

Running k2, joomla 1.5.20

Yep I recall sthg similar happening long ago to a site I was looking after. It turned out that the forum was looking out for potential hacks and converting any possible hack word (in a keyword list) as you say by inserting a '-'.

So look for sthg in K2 that's preventing hacking in this way?

Just a thought...

had a good play around and still no love!

Have to go in the the MySQL database to make the changes so that it won't change.

painful.

thanks for the suggestion Dex

i have not used k2 but in joomla article to embed javascript you need to use plain editor rather tinymce. See joomla configuration.

unfortunately that isn't the problem either.

with JCE on or off it will automatically change the script to disable it from working.

I have recently run into the same issue, my <script> tags are converted to <s-cript> on any article save. I've been asking around but no solution yet.

If I find anything I'll let you know. I need to have this corrected soon!!

Re:Inserting JS issue in Joomla 1 year, 9 months ago #3149

Well, my issue seems to be related to a version update to RSFirewall I had installed this week. Once I uninstalled the latest version of RSFirewall and re-installed an older version I had the issue was resolved.

Not sure if this will help you or not.

I'll keep you posted if I receive any futher updates.

Just wanted to confirm that mine was related to a new version of RSFirewall. After I uninstalled the latest version and installed a previous version my <s-cript></s-cript> issue went away.

Maybe this will help a little....

Ok I gave the solution a go myself too and yes I can confirm that it works.

Does anyone have an older version of RSFirewall ? I'm a subscribed user but you can't download older versions.

RSJoomla mentioned that if you download and reinstall the component again it will fix the issue.

I assume they had the error reported to them and they went about fixing it without distributing an update.

Re:Inserting JS issue in Joomla 1 year, 6 months ago #3328

Well...I just installed the latest RSFirewall (1.0.0 rev 20) this time with Joomla 1.5.22 and still no luck. I get the <s-cript> tag again. I have had to revert once again back to RSFirewall version 1.0.0 rev 16 to eliminate this issue. So far no luck in my conversations with RSJoomla and no resolution yet. If anyone finds a solution please let us all know.

Thanks!!

stick with your old version until they have updated their release to take into account 1.5.22
