Hi Guys,

Does anyone here offer (or would the be prepared to offer) a training room type training course?

I would personally like to attend one if there is. I know how to installed the system both manually and with installers like Fantastico. I also know the basics of adding articles, sections, categories and menus.

I would be interested in learning this much more in depth and also learning more about changing templates and making basic templates.

Perhaps if there are other people here who are interested in the same thing, we could "encourage" a more experienced Joomla person to agree to create some training. Even if we did it as a webinar, and collected FAQs from people and paid the "Guru" for there time.

I would happily facilitate such a thing and would value it very much.

Look forward to hearing back from everyone.

Cheers - Dallas

Hi Dallas

yes, several of us can do classroom training. You might also want to attend a workshop at joomladay - see sydney.joomladay.org.au/workshop-program

I am considering doing a Joomla 102 (taking up where joomla 101 leaves off) and can easily train on the subjects you mention.

Hi Dex,

Okay, I am interested. When can we do it and what are the fees? I don't know what I don't know so perhaps, we can touch base and work out what is required. If its only me who is interested, can I come to an office or something to do this 102 type training?

I would be interested in the I will book into the 101 training anyway, at the workshop.

I am also very interested in the SEO aspects of Joomla, particularly the site structure and being able to properly silo a site like the Bruce Clay method of using NOFOLLOW tags to achieve the siloing.

Cheers - Dallas

Will wait for Dex to float suggested topics to the forum and what the numbers will need to be to make it viable for him to run the training.

This could be the coolest event of the century

Hi Guys - I run public courses - every few months in Sydney.

www.joomla-training-ground.com

Actaully Dallas I think you may have signed up for the November course - but I'm in between offices at the moment - so behind with all admin - sorry for that.

I currently have 2 full day courses - Getting started with Joomla & Administering a Joomla website. [I also do customised courses for corporate and gov, organisations.]

If you came to me a with a group I could put something to together for you etc according to yoru needs - that is, unless Dex is doing something for you - as she is totally top notch.

Hi JLJ

Yes, Dallas and I have been discussing by email and I am putting together an Intermediate/Advanced course specific to his needs, which I will then open to others.

Here's my list:
Global Config (detailed)
Architecture refresher and advanced usage
Menu masterclass
Template setup and tweaking
Favourite extensions setup
Common mistakes to avoid
Tips and tricks
SEO

In this case Dallas you can choose which course to go on! JLJ also very good!

cheers

Hey - I am still interested in the November course (if its still on). Figure you can never learn too much. Its just that I never heard back from anyone, so was not sure what to do next...

Can you please email me the details for it, and the costs?

Thanks - Dallas
