Hi all,

Does anyone know how to have an module that...

just requires a name and email...

a link is then sent to that email...

that shows a page on a joomla site only for those registered
and does not show the full URL?

(The site has fabrik installed and virtuemart.)

Re: Just name and email to access a page 2 years, 2 months ago #2573

?does not show the full URL - not quite sure what that means
do you want them to register to the site? or sign up for a newsletter or anything?

I don't knwo off ahand a module that does this - but it sounds fairly straight -forward - you hsould be able to get soemone to write that for you - or just modify / copy and modify a registration or newsletter module

But someone may have seen something that does this.. hopefully!

Thanks JustLoveJoomla

What I mean with the URL is that I don't want the URL to be passed on to another person.

So for example... not the best site.. but... www.excelinperformance.com.au/ has a free report on the bottom left. You submit your name and email.. you check your email and there is a link, you click on it, and you are sent to the site again and the URL bar only shows www.excelinperformance.com.au/

They're using AWebber as the newsletter signup form.

You can sign up for an account with Awebber and do a similar thing to what they have done.

Personally I prefer Campaign Monitor or MailChimp. I have to say I'm Campaign Monitor bias.

But you can do the free download or a ebook/newsletter and get the user to subscribe to it at the same time.

www.drbretthill.com is another example but looks nicer and done in Joomla.

....now, to unsubscribe myself from their newsletter before I start getting spammed.
The only limitation is your imagination

Thank you Buipy, I too have to remove myself from that list!

I realise they use an external firm for that feature.. but I was wondering if there was a way to do it internally in my site.

I already use campaign monitor for this client, I will look into what options I can get through them. Really not keen to go through awebber.
