It's been 6 months in the making (in between writing code for Joomla 1.6) but learn.theartofjoomla.com has finally arrived.

This site includes some really good reference material for Joomla 1.5 including the written version of my training course about templates that I've delivered in Brisbane, Sydney and Adelaide.

The Joomla 1.6 section includes the beginnings of my video based source for 1.6 development. At the moment I teach you about discovering extensions in Joomla 1.6, MVC theory and basic access controls for components. More will come in the coming months.

Would love your feedback (and/or patronage) on the site.

Hey Andrew, how much content do you expect to launch within your 180 days?

I have a minor operation that will slow me up next week for a bit, but then next topics on my list are:

• Working with the database
• Building the backend list view
• Building the backend edit view
• Packaging for distribution and using the 1.6 update feature

I hope that's less than 6 months work (all the video is cut, just have to write the transcripts, record and edit - and do errata's for all the stuff that changed, hehe). After that there's working with categories and then looking at building frontend component and then I'm open to where my subscribers want me to take them (modules, plugins, API lessons, etc).

Oh, and obviously as 1.7 approaches, there's scope to look at how that affects things. At $55 (incl GST), 6 months is a steal
