Here is an interesting error that I haven't found occurring on other sites before:

The links using Joomla's (1.5.17) link component aren't resolving on www.myaustralianvisa.com. E.g. clicking on the Qantas link under

www.myaustralianvisa.com/migration-links/153-airlines.html

brings you back to the frontpage of www.myaustralianvisa.com. but not onto the Qantas homepage. Please believe me that the Qantas link in the component was set properly!

Any ideas what could cause the confusion?

The site uses Joomla's sef URLs.

Yes I see this a bit - usually it is about trouble-shooting the url /SEF's. Sometimes it's because a (title) alias has or hasn't been changed - to match the page title.

So for example say I copied an article - then renamed it and adjusted it as a new page but didn't change the alias then I woudl get into trouble. Or if the article is mvoed frmo a section. I guess start by checking teh alias of teh page you are trying to link to - in yoru case it may also be picking up catagories (or sections) so this too could be part of teh problem. But in nearly every case that I see this it's the sef url - so you are quite right to point it out.

WOrse case scenario create a fresh article and alias - will usually sort things out.

Hmmm, I tested this forward and backward. Even turning sef URL's off doesn't resolve the problem.

And it is the link component that plays up. Internal links and other externals are working fine otherwise.

Grrrrrrrrrrr.

Hmm ok - I must not get it - when i manually put the link in I get eth same page - so I was assumign it's a url thing - what did you want the url to be for qantas say? - because the url :
www.myaustralianvisa.com/migration-links...rlines/7-qantas.html
even if entered manually goes to teh homepage

The link in the link component is www.qantas.com.au.
But it resolves to the homepage...

Never mind, the link component is not the most important one. I did set up a content item and added the links there.
