I have run into a problem which for the life of me cannot understand why or how it happened. After installing a template and making it to suit my requirements and all going well. for a month now, a few nights ago when the MAIN MENU bar disappeared and i cannot get it back. I have tried assigning the MAIN MENU to various different modules position such as USER3, TOP, HEADER etc but it wont show up at all.

I believe that the Main Menu is in the topnav bar but i cannot locate it in the code or anywhere.

PLEASE HELP
!!!

Hey Smiley,

Sounds like you have to assign that menu module position to the correct spot that the template has allocated for the menu area.

at the end of your domain at root level, type this in.

?tp=1

www.joomladay.org.au/?tp=1

This will bring up the preview overlay and let you know what the module position of where the menu area is called so you can position the module in to it.

Do that and make sure the module is enabled.

Hi

Thanks for the tip. I have tired that several times before but its not working. All the module positions are there but its the navbar which sits not in a module as such that's vanished.
does that make sense

Thanks again

Hi

You dont mention which template you are using, but it may well be in the template parameters - see under Extensions > Template Manager.

hi

the template im using is called
Name: themza_j15_38
Description: Christmas Fantasy

on the demo site you will see that the MAIN MENU is in the navbar under the banner in area BLACK - HOME etc.
however on mine it was there but now vanished....have tried everything i possible can think of....going into extension, ensuring all modules are enabled, changed the module around etc but not working..

hope that makes sense and someone has an idea how to fix it

thanks ALL

Ok the template does not use a module position to display the menu. It has its own PHP menu generation code. No time to debug right now - you might want to temporarily give me or someone else the superadmin rights to fix it. Otherwise chase Themza support team for an answer.
I would at minimum make sure that the mainmenu entries are published to all users, and the module is published to all users at postition 'user3' since this is the default.

Hm. Yep, I would definitely go to the template provider for support on this one.
