Hi all,
I am currently working on a project for a cancer charity called:
The Warwick Foundation.
temp site address:
113.20.7.57/~edaj/
the old / soon to be changed site address:
thewarwickfoundation.org.au/
the old site is a real mess and the links arent search engine friendly at all. The site has lots of pages, all of which will have new properly titled pages.
My query is:
what is the best way to set up a redirect for multiple pages that all need to direct themselves to various relative pages on the new site.
From my initial researching the 301 is the best way and says to set this up in the .htaccess file.
The other extension that I have just started looking into (thanks to patrick jackson) is 404sef.
Do I set up multiple redirects in the .htaccess?
Or do I do this with 404sef.
If anyone was able to give me a workflow/ example of how to do this that would be hugely appreciated. As I am fairly uneducated in this area.
Also on a side note, if anyone one is interested in helping this worthy cause and has any skills that you think would be handy I would love to hear from you.
For more info on the charity visit either of the links above.
Real World Media Group does all this work pro bono, so this is not a call to earn extra money, just to lend a hand as a volunteer.
Thanks everyone....
Anthony...
