TOPIC: please help an amateur!

please help an amateur! 2 years ago #2816

Hi all,
I am an absolute amateur at Joomla but last year I taught myself to use it and worked on a website for a family friend. She didn't want to pay to migrate to Joomla 1.5 so I used Version 1 which the site was currently on, and re-jigged the website so it looks a lot more modern. Now I can't make any changes to the website from the backend. It seems to be frozen.
Is this because Version 1 is no longer supported?
How do I migrate it to Version 1.5? I have googled the issue but it's in language I don't understand (oh to be a nerd)

Should I employ someone to do the migration? If so, what rates am I looking at? If not, is it something I can teach myself to do if I don't understnad MySQL and the rest of the language?

Any help would be most appreciated!! Website is movingintomusic.com.au
Thanks,
Bridget

Looks like you have some template issues there too.

You should still be able to log in to the backend of your site even though Joomla 1.0.x is no longer supported. I can't tell by looking at your site why you've been locked out.

I personally think that the best option is to pay for someone to migrate to the latest version of Joomla as you'll need to look at all of the plugins modules and extensions that the site uses as well and make sure that there is an upgrade path for all of those extensions too.

I'm sure someone will contact you via email soon.
