Hello, I have just signed up with Siteground, and I have the option for them to install Joomla for me, which I'm happy for them to do. I'm part way through now, and have got to a section that says:

"Please specify the Directory for the script installation:
Leave the directory field above blank if you need the script installed in your root directory or fill in a directory name to access the installed application there (e.g. /forum)."

In the email they sent it says "The Directory is a very important part of the installation. If you wish, when someone types in your domain name to get this website popup - fill in as a directory "www"."

Not sure what all this means. Do I leave the directory blank so they install it to a root directory?

Yes if you want yourdomain.com to point to the joomla site - let it install in the root.

If you want to make say a yorudomain.com/test and put it there make a test directory - but you'll have to move it or redirect it down thetrack etc.
