Hi,

I have a problem with the sm2extension to send out my newsletter.
When I even trie to the page i get a - 404 Error- on the whole page. Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

I already contacted the people behind the sm2extensions but it seems to be a joomla problem...

Many Thanks,

Sean

Hi Sean

I can't see how it is a Joomla problem, if an extension is not working in an up-to-date Joomla install.

Unelss you have other problems. Or some other reason to think there is a problem with Joomla?

Or is it an incompatability problem with another addon etc.

Have you used this extension before (I am not familiar with it)? Has it worked before? If so what has changed since it last worked.

It could be a lot of things -when are you getting the 404 when you try to use the extension from teh backend or frontend? Are you using an addon SEF component - because you may need to redirect a url or something.

Hi,

I have just been told by sm2extensions that it is not a problem that they are known with and simply told me that i must be a Joomla problem.

I'm using this exitension for a long time now and it has been working fine so far.
I get the Error when I trie to open the page from behind.

To complete the whole story:

First we got an error that the licens key was wrong, we changed that. Then the IP adress was not up to date..so I updated the IP. And now I get a 404 Error....

Is there a way to maybe reinstall the module?

Many thanks,
Sean

Hmm.. I assume you can uninstall and reinstall the extension in the backend in the usual way [http://help.joomla.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=findkey&tmpl=component%3B1&keyref=screen.installer.15]

Are you working in legacy mode - I think this may be a legacy mode extension. (or are you using a 1.0 site - the link above was for a Joomla! 1.5 site)

WRT "the whole story" there is something missing - something must have changed - have you moved hosts / why had thelicence key changed? etc

Nonetheless assuming your site has no problems a reinstall sounds good starting point - check whether you need legacy mode etc too. (that's a 1.5 issue)

Hope this helps and of course - Back Up First
