RT @dioscouri: #TIENDA 0.2.1 (alpha) shopping cart free download: bit.ly/a2k0jz and project site: bit.ly/92GOpC

Actually the overview is here: dioscouri.com/index.php?option=com_conte...d=167&Itemid=410

I have not tried this yet, but it's from Dioscouri, which for me means it's probably quality. Rafael was at the NY Joomla dev conf picking up the latest tips, which I think says a lot! Altho he lives there, so not much of a stretch.

If anyone tries it and wants to review it here, please do!

Thanks for that - I wasn't aware of the new ecommerce product - I like dioscouri too! Will give it a whirl in next few weeks & report back.

I have had a quick look at the alpha, though I do not have a great deal of experience in e-comm, so my comments may miss some important issues. The beta was meant to be out in March but I haven't checked in the last few days - Discouri were offering some level of support once the beta was out.

It seems to offer a clean interface with all the configuration options you might want - possibly at the expense of needing to be well organised for those wanting a simple configuration for one particular situation (tax/shipping) environment.

It appears to involve a much smaller installation file size than VirtueMart.

Of issue for me is that, like VirtueMart, it seems to assume it has unencumbered rights to take over the Joomla user registration system as part of its processes, making it a problem for a site with content that is restricted to members.

Cheers - David
