HI all,

I have just finished the Joomla tutorial for setting up and building a joomla site on my locahost PC. my question is can I try out some of these cool modules ( Expsoe etc ) on my localhost setup or do I need to use the proper hosting servers/services of an ISP like Rochen etc. ?

Many Thanks,

Scott.

In my experience it depends - but certainly give it a go - and when you get stuck use a fully set-up server.

It comes down to the environment on your localhost etc.

Others here probably know more than I about this

I do all my development on my local machine before pushing it to a live server. The biggest issue is that you want you local machine configuration to closely match the server environment. Just because something works locally does not mean it will work on the server and it is best to be aware of those issues as soon as possible. Not the best time to find it out when your trying to go live

Thanks JustLoveJoomla,

Have been checking this out with ISP's and most say that modules should work on local host, to basically give it a try.
