I am new to using joomla and I'm finding it very difficult inserting a flash swf file on the frontpage of my template.Please i will be most grateful if you could help with a detailed description on how to go about it.Thanks

Hi there

You should install a plugin on to your site such as AllVideos Reloaded. This is the easiest way to insert SWF and other multimedia files in to your site.

Download the extension here:
extensions.joomla.org/extensions/multime...ZWxvYWRlZCI7fQ%3D%3D

Install it using the Joomla extension installer.

Instructions for use are here:
allvideos.fritz-elfert.de/external/fetchrawdoc.php?lang=en-GB

But basically if you load your swf file using the Media Manager in to images/stories/videos folder (you may need to create the videos folder) then you can insert the video in to an article as follows:

{swf}yourswffile{/swf}
Note that you dont include the '.swf' as this is appended automatically
