Welcome to the Aussie Joomla forum. I hope you find it useful. Please drop in and write an introduction post.... it's kinda lonely in here by myself.
Cheers

Hi Dex. A lot of water under the bridge since I attended the Sydney JUG Joomla 101 Day. I was able to mess around and manually install Joomla (with some help from my friend, a PHP Ninja). I have finally got charlestownchildcare.org.au beaten into shape, with a template I like, and a lot of the sample content turned off. But I'm afraid I might have turned off too many features without fully understanding what they were for. For example I cannot get the footer modules to work now, for some reason. I wanted to ask you, what was the text editor plug-in you recommended? For some reason I cannot get an article to post, it tells me 'you must have some text included to post'. Weird.

well done on getting the site up - hooray!

'you must have some text included to post' could be a number of things... would need to log in to diagnose i think. Maybe the J version, or something you unplugged, or hosting/browser-related or your editor. Or maybe you just arent putting any content in there?

JCE is my personally preferred editor, although even that has a nasty bug that needs fixing. Search for JCE on extensions.joomla.org to download and install.

perhaps see you at our mtg next week if you need more help?
