Hi All,
great to be able to post on the Geelong joomla! users group site. Reason for post: wondering if any of you guys run or are part of a company that can give paid advice and aid troubleshooting for a school Intranet site. The school is Newcomb Secondary College and I'm the point of contact. I have instaled a joomla! 1.5 site onto WAMP server runing on Win2k3r2. I will migrate over to using IIS once install of Server 2008 is complete.
At present the site will run ok, but periodically when you use the backend login once you type in the user(or users as I've tried a couple of existing logons), the page starts the logon process and then sits at a white screen - no error code showing ... a real pain as I need to edit the site. I'm wondering if it is either to do with java permissions within the firefox browser I'm using or being affected by the LDAP authentication plugin that I had tried to setup. The LDAP plugin hasn't changed for a while and I've been able to login quite fine till now. I know about changing password via PHPAdmin but that doesn't work.
Any ideas and also anyone with joomla! experience running a business or consulting that would like some extra pay ?
Thanks in advance,
Andrew

Hi Andrew - possibly a complex problem.

I'm not in geelong but may be able to help. (If you need formal consult - contact detail are @ www.j-b-t.com.au/contact-us.html)

However - consider the following:
- if this is just a development site running on WAMP - the problem may just be the environment set up and it may well run better ... or not
(I use wamp for some but not all development stages - I may just not be technical enough to accurately match the environments)
- since you think it may be the plugin have you tried to disable / uninstall teh plugin and see whether that's the difference (I appreciate that it ran for a while, etc)
- you could try the joomla diagnostics - upload to test server and run
extensions.joomla.org/extensions/1146/details
(not sure how reliable it is )

back up your data and site before changing / tinkering / etc.
