Internet Marketer

The Business

I.T. on Tap is part of the Paradise Island group, which includes seminar companies and a magazine. The companies are expanding their use of Internet-based marketing strategies, and as a result we somebody sharp to focus on this area full time.

The Role

This is an opportunity to build on your existing expertise with HTML, CSS, website management and email marketing - to learn and implement a variety of online marketing strategies across several industries.

Initially you will be executing marketing strategies provided by the directors and external consultants, but ultimately we want to see you developing and testing some of your own ideas as well. Your activities in any given day may include:

• updating website content, structure or functionality (we use the Joomla Content Management System)
• configuring forms or other CMS-based software on a website
• designing, preparing and sending email marketing campaigns
• managing online advertising campaigns (e.g. Google Adwords)
• implementing Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) on a website
• coordinating an online PR campaign to drive traffic to a website
• measuring and tuning online conversion strategies
• managing an online affiliate program

About You

We don't need you to be an expert in all aspects of Internet marketing, as we work with consultants and experts who can provide that knowledge and advice. We do need someone who can take that information and put it into practice, quickly and efficiently. We want someone with a passion for Internet marketing, who will be keen to learn as they go and ultimately master the field.

There are a few essential must-have attributes for the role:

• Good knowledge of HTML and CSS - enough to tweak an email campaign or fix a web issue that can't be resolved through the WYSIWYG editor that you're using at the time.
• Excellent attention to detail - we're not kidding; we must be able to rely on your accuracy without always checking your work.
• Excellent written English including grammar and spelling - at times you'll be the "voice" of our companies, and we want our communication to be consistently clear and precise.
• Programming skills are not required for this role, although a working knowledge of basic PHP will be well regarded as it often makes you self-sufficient when working with web software.
• Able to quickly learn and use software tools as required to get the job done. We are a fast-paced team, we want people who can keep up!
