Hi All,
I'm using K2 on a Joomla 2.5 site. I have sh404sef installed and want to make use of its new social sharing plugin feature of being able to track social sharing in analytics, etc.

So, I turned turned on the sh404sef social sharing plugin and turned off social sharing in my K2 item view parameters and, but it appears that neither want to work together, or apart... here's what happens:

Using the sh404sef, I set them to show at the bottom of the article (setting to show at the top does nothing anyway...). So they show up as a bullet list - tweet, like, google plus. This is before I went into K2 and turned off the social sharing so at this stage, below the bullet list, I also have a horizontal list of the K2 buttons - once again, Tweet, Like/Share, Google Plus
Then I turn off the K2 social buttons in the Item view parameters, and not only do they go away, but all the sh404 buttons go away as well - leaving an empty bullet list except for the linked word, Tweet (no image) in the first bullet. I've tired playing around with any possible parameters/combinations but still get the same result.

There's obviously a conflict here but I'm not sure where to begin looking. I've done some searching in the forums/google but can't find anything specific yet.

Has anyone else experienced this and have they found a solution? Or should I just use the K2 buttons in the meantime...

Cheers,
Jen

Hey there Jen.

I am thinking that possibly turning off the K2 buttons is disabling or changing the visibility of the area in the template which shows the social sharing buttons. Is there an option in K2 to actually unpublish the socialshare plugin (as opposed to turning it off)?

It may actually be possible that the two different socialshare plugins call their element/div/id the same and that may be causing the conflict.

I'm don't really use K2, but to me this seems the most likely reason - may be able to see this by comparing page source when visible or not and also with firebug.

Otherwise, there's always checking to see if js libraries are loading twice, etc . . .never know.

Hope the above may help in some small way.

Hi,
Sorry but I've had to put this project onto the back-burner so haven't had a chance to resolve the conflict. Hoping upgrades of K2 and sh404sef might do the trick!
Will certainly update this post if I do find a solution.
Regards,
Jenny
