Any suggestions on this one? I have the 2.5 version running on a subdomain and I now want to transfer all the users from the 1.5 version to the 2.5 version then transfer the whole lot to the main domain.

What is the best way that anyone might be able to share?

Thanks,

John

Hi John,

belatedly saw your post.

I have not used any of them, but there are a number of well rated extensions on the JED that purport to do this. Are you still looking or have you solved your problem?

David,

I tried this solution: www.itropics.net/computers/php-mysql-asp...-as-csv-for-ms-excel
BUT when I try to login to phpMyAdmin via cPanel, it asks me for a username and password. I am not sure why as I have never been asked this before.

Sounds like a tried and tested approach to moving the users.

I assume the being asked for PHPMyAdmin credentials was just an annoyance rather than a hurdle - I mean I assume you had the db credentials from when you set up the J2.5 site and db?

With the myphpadmin, I had to change the password on my cpanel login to get in. Not sure why.

As for the migration, this was the best method: www.jomsocial.com/blog/joomla-25-migrato...-j2xml-importer.html

NOTE: You can only export and import 20 users at a time. I spent a lot of time trying to do all the users at once. Top tip.

Works well.
