Hi guys,

I have a dilemma. I got Developer to develop a website for me, but it is unfinished. The flash header and flash navigation menus look good, but I would rather import them into my Joomla 1.0 template so that I can easily edit them. The Developer added his own CMS into the backend which I cannot understand.

Check out the pretty website A: www.s.y.d.n.e.y.d.i.s.c.u.s.w.o.r.l.d.com.au/demo (remove the full stops).
I also have website B. www.s.y.d.n.e.y.d.i.s.c.u.s.w.o.r.l.d.com.au (remove the full stops) which is in Joomla 1.0 format. I don't like the layout/style of this template, but ideally I would like to import the flash components from A into B.

Which path should I take:

1. Import the Flash header/flash nav menus from the front page of A into B
2. Buy a new Joomla 1.5 template and import the flash headers etc from A
3. Any other ideas?

My www.s.y.d.n.e.y.d.i.s.c.u.s.w.o.r.l.d.com.au website is ranking quite well so I am not sure if I install Joomla 1.5 on this domain, will it lose its ranking?
PLEASE HELP! Any suggestions would be appreciated. I am located in Sydney and would appreciate any help. Please send me a message/email for any help and I would like to open a job offer on this task. Please quote your price for completing this work for me.

Thanks!
Sue

Hi Sue,

Get the flash swf file and pit in to your current website. Only thing you require to change is menu links as may be it's linked to your demo site so update the menu as per your requirements and you are done.

If you want to migrate to J1.5 then you can redirect all your old urls to new urls so you don't end up in 404 page. Also do 301 redirect so your Search engine listing get updated slowly and gradually.

Thankyou for the speedy reply Nikin.
Looking at my current website, how would I insert multiple flash files into my Joomla 1.0 website? There are several files:

*A flash logo
*Flash Nav bar
*Flash menu items - Specials, Discus, Planted Tanks

How would I insert all of these items into website B?
For example, as you can see, the green nav menu (HOME, GALLERIES etc) overlaps with the aquarium header image (with the fish in it). Is there a quick solution for replacing my Header image with the flash movie in my demo? Please provide details/link to a site which instructs.

Secondly, could you please give me further details on 404 and 303 redirects?

Please help me with the above,

Sue.

Hi Sue,

You require to update your template files and you can insert different flash file in your template.

You may require to update your htaccess file to do 301 redirect or you can use sh404 component and do redirect using it.
