Hi all

As the more observant amongst you may have spotted, I have popped on a new template. Partly to update, partly cos I was sick of all the Javascript clashes. It's meant to be a 'community' template. That must be why I had to re-write so much Jomsocial code to fit it.

There are now a bunch of new features that I can bleed in to the site, which will come shortly.

Anyhoo, much more work to be done - please bear with me as I work through it.

Enjoy!
Dex
P.S. Patrick the forum login was not fixed in the upgrade, sadly. Can you pls help me out on that? Thx

Great work, Dex.

I can now raise an event from the community group page.
A toolbar's appeared in the forum edit page - the new template did that?
Testing the community group "Send e-mail to members" function.

I see you using the JA Social template (clearly specially prepared for JomSocial). Have you concluded that you can't use "any old" template with Jom Social? Are you going to publish what you've learnt?

I was able to use the forum login.

Hey Pete

thanks for the feedback.

Happy day, new toolbar! I'd say things will settle down a bit with less JS clashes, but I have not investigated this advent, no.

My logging in to the forum works some days and other days not. There's something seriously odd happening there and it's making me mad!

Yeah JomSocial is a law unto itself, unfortunately. If only it used standard module code for its modules, I wouldn't need to edit everything by hand. The home page in particular is very hard-coded. Bah! And yes, it can thus be hard to find a decent JomSocial-friendly template, as this one purports to be.

My experience so far with Jomsocial is that to a fair degree it ignores the underlying Joomla template. It has gotten a bit better over time, but not standard enough for my liking.

And its users Dex as evidenced by extremely poor responses on the Support Forum!
