G'day all,

One of the things I dislike about Forum based support with some "clubs" or software you buy is that they have the option of ignoring you.

This is currently happening to me on two forums, one of which is the subject of this post. I'll simply copy and paste the original which was put on the support forum on 7th February. I wouldn't of thought it expecting too much to have had an answer by now!!!

I am having a problem with the Quantive template that I have never seen or experienced before. Some visitors to the site cannot get the menus to drop down.

The site is Crystalfix Tank Repairs at crystalfix.com.au

I thought this might be an IE 6 problem, but the last visitor who complained was running IE 7. I thought it might be a javascript problem with some users, so I turned the javascript off, but still getting complaints. I also upgraded Gantry to the latest version, but still no success.

The menus work fine on my machine and the clients' machine and also several colleagues I have had test the site so I am at a loss as to what might be causing the problem.

Any suggestions would be most welcome.

Thanks for the help on that one Nikunj. It was an IE7 issue, but I have no idea what was causing the problem as I have used this template a number of times before without any problems.

I decided it would be quicker and cheaper to transfer to a new site. It is now working OK so far on the development site.

one of the javascript property is not supported in IE7 and that's why it's stopping the execution of the complete script and which destroy the layout of your menu and dropdown.

Do you have anyother site where you have used this so that i can test in IE7?

or the best way is use some component to create a dropdown menu easy rather then spending time in fixing the javascript.

I had similar issue and I have to write conditional statements for ie so it loads different script when it detects particular ie version

Ric - just interested in your "solution" re "transfer to a new site" you mean you rebuilt the whole thing or relocated to a diff server ?

Just curious ...

moving to different server won't work as JS is end user dependent not on server

Rebuilding the whole thing...

Not that difficult really. Installed latest copy of the Quantive Quicklaunch. All my changes in previous site were to two of the css files, so just uploaded them. Then I am copying and pasting content.

Bloody nuisance, but quicker than firefighting...

Gotcha ! That's often the easyest option for some sites ..

I'm contempating the same "solution" for a site using Mynxx - trouble is there are a whole load of products in the cart .. RT often make updating their templaes quite difficult .. plus the often poor forum responses ..
