I made a Joomla 1.6 website locally on my PC with WebMatrix, I then backupped this site with Akeeba Backup and uploaded the backup to my webhotel (online) I used kickstart.php to unpack and install this jpa file. I used the newest versions. Everything went well, my website is online now but when I am logged in as administrator and click on save to for instance save an article I get a whole line of i-s. Which is an icon from the main menu. I wonder what causes this. I tried to attach a screenshot of this line of i-s. The saving goes well as far as I can tell still the version on my PC locally doesn't have this problem. So I am wondering if all this is because of a bug in Akeeba. Or if my 1.6.0 website was hacked before I could upgrade it to version 1.6.3

On my 'other' computer I don't have this problem, which is puzzling. Maybe it has to do with the browser.
But the good news is that my website is fine.

On my 1.6.3 site, I'm using the default admin template (bluestork) and the icon you mention (administrator/templates/bluestork/images/notice-info.png) is referenced in style sheet /media/system/css/system.css where it has a 'no-repeat'. I'd be checking that style sheet and/or using Firebug or similar to detect why the icon is repeating.

Mate, the good news is that I got the same thing when I migrated a 1.5.22 site to 1.6.0, so you haven't been hacked.

My solution: Well, I had so many things up the spout after the migration that I wiped the lot and rebuilt the site from scratch in 1.6.0. Problem solved, sort of.

Now that I've upgraded to 1.6.1 and 1.6.2 on another site that was created as a 1.6.0, I'm still having more trouble than Ned Kelly and have been advised that Joomla 1.6 is not yet ready for production sites. I don't know if this is correct but it came from someone that I'd trust.

On my own site (the second one), I've upgraded to 1.6.3 but haven't yet had time to check it out.

If it doesn't work out, I'm planning to rebuild from scratch in 1.5.23 in the next couple of days.

I reckon I jumped the gun with 1.6 and I reckon you did too! Leave it to the experts to sort out the bugs and get into it in a year or so. Plenty of time. I wish someone had told me that a couple of months ago!

Best wishes.
On the way to being a basic Joomla user.
