Memory Issues with RT tempate ?

Got a Joomla problem? Post as much detail about it as you can here to see if you can get a solution.

Where possible, include URL for the site or page having issues, what version of Joomla you're using, what type of server (eg Cpanel, WAMP, IIS), what components may be installed, and specific error messages you're encountering.

If you think your problem is particularly obscure, you might be better posting it to the forums at joomla.org as there's thousands more people to help you.

Hi all,

Just moving some of my new works to a new VPS server and have come across a Joomla memory issue - well I say that - it only seems to occur with RT templates ?? A site with a Joomlabamboo template is fine.

The error I get is Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 18087936) (tried to allocate 271527 bytes) in /home/switchto/public_html/libraries/joomla/document/html/html.php on line 389 - which occurs when I try and access the sites Template Parameters.

However I've updated my mem limit in php.ini to 128M, I have the same site running on another server where the mem limit is 32M and that's working ok ???

Any ideas or suggestions ?

Cheers

[MOD: Moved to help and troubleshooting]

Did you fix this Martin? Would have hoped a post on RT forums would have been more advantageous?

Does it work on your localhost Shane?

Perhaps a reinstall of the template. As you probably know, RT often have different versions and fix bugs. I have had such problems with them in the past and found an upgrade of the menu plugin fixed things.

Cheers,

Well this one is a bit of a long one ...

I got the folks from Open Source Help Desk involved (as Jumba offer no support on their VPS's) and after 4 hours OSHD couldn't offer any useful information.

I went back to Jumba and advised I was cancelling the VPS as it was unusable. Then they looked into the issue and the resolution was a php.ini file in each account directory, just for memory allocation.

I'd already increased the overall memory to 128M but for some RT templates this needs to be at least 256M to work !

So the solution was increasing php memory to 256M. I still don't understand why my other Jumba VPS is running with the latest RT templates and only has 32M of memory allocated to PHP but anyway ....
