Hoping for a pointer in the right direction.
I have a J1.5 site that will soon need migrating to J1.6. The site searches each catagory separately. It does this by the following:
JLJ generously built me a custom search plugin for J1.5 that searches on a specified section. I make a category to match the section (one category to a section) and make a new search box for each section/category. Works fine!
She's a bit pushed for time so a new plugin for J1.6 seems unlikely.
I've searched the JED and can't find what I need for J1.6.
My best alternative at the moment seems to lie with a Google Custom Search Engine.
The site currently has a thousand pages and I hope to increase this to two or three thousand pages, over time.
About 92% of the pages are indexed.
Up till now I haven't had the category title enabled, but I guess the pages will soon get reindixed, enabling me to create a special page of instructions of "advanced search".
The above method being only 92% reliable, I'm hopeing someone could point me to something better.
Of course, it's possible that as I regularly update the site with new content, I could get closer to 100% indexing.
I'm surprized that there aren't at least half a dozen freebie plugins to restrict the search category. I must be one of the few who need this.
Thanks.
