Just wanted to give a quick plug for both MailChimp and this component.
I've just started using them together... and just WOW.
Seemless integration, professional reports... and for many accounts, totally free.

Check them out

P.S. No I'm not being paid to say this.

I totally agree. I've been using the Joomlamailer mailchimp integration extension for a few months now, and it is fantastic.

I also hacked/improved it a bit to allow my site to have a two page signup process. Essentially the first page the user enters their name and email address and gets subscribed to my list, this way they don't get scared away by a long form. On the second page it asks additional questions such as which products they are interested in, and although the second page is optional almost everyone fills this in too and it all gets saved to my mailchimp account.

Great reply Tim. You may like to detail exactly the process so others could use it if the wish. You can PM or email me or catch up at MJUG meeting if you prefer.

I for one have left ACYmailing for Mailchimp as our company preferred system now.

I like the MailChimp integration as well but I did find a conflict between it and Community Builder - was a year ago so may no longer be the case.

If the CB issue is still there then a support ticket to CB themselves would be in order. The CB support is great and direct when needed.

Sure - did that, been there - their response was basically to use AcyMailer as MailChimp Integration conflicted with their processes. It is a little hazy with the passage of time, and it may well have been a conflict with CB Subscriptions rather than CB itself. I could probably dig through my notes if it is of critical importance to anyone.

We aren't using CB or CB Subs so don't have any issues.

Maybe if you would like to advise the old issue when you have time as a reference fro users of CB

Cheers

OK - here are my raw log notes on the issue - note this is from July 2011 so situation could well have changed. Was using CB 1.2 and CBS 1.2.1 I think. Had a helpful exchange with CB Developers behind all this.

4. Joomailer MailChimp Integration
b) Configuration
 NOTE – some editor elements do not work in Chrome – need to use FireFox
 Joomailer overlays MailChimp and allows some integration with Joomla user lists and article incorporation etc
 To set up lists you need to be in MailChimp
 Groups within a list allows segmented (special interest) emails
 Registration plugin does not seem to work with AlphaRegistrations
c) Conflict with Community Builder Subs
 Killed CB Subs register link (500 error) – so had to go
