Hi,

Does anyone know of good sites to download photos for use on websites being developed?

Free is good of course but I don't mind if I have to a few dollars for some.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi Pekay!

Try a Google search on stock photography.

You may find some photos on Flickr with a commons license, possibly for non commercial use.

But please keep in mind that photos do have considerable value. Free or a few dollars my not sit well with a competent photographer who wants to get adequately remunerated.

After searching last night I came upon the site that you have recommended Dex - istockphoto.com. It looks like a really good option and from what I can see so far it works on a purchased token system, so yes the photos are paid for but it looks like I'll be able find what I need without it costing a fortune.

It had never been my intention to devalue the work of the photographers but to find an affordable option. I think the way that the istockphoto.com site works is probably very good for photographers because their photos may not cost much each but they can sell unlimited copies of them it appears - from what I have read so far. It's really a win/win situation I think.

Thanks for the replies.
