Hello Everyone,

I'm student doing a intern in small organisation. I'm working on Joomla 1.5 and I'm beginner. so I have plenty of questions to ask.

1. I have problem dividing the front page into different section. I have understood the topic of Modules but my problem is bit different.

2. Top drop down menu.

3. Search Engine optimisation for my website.

4. news with small intro text to be displayed..


I'm trying and looking for plugins and working on them but that doesnt satisfying me and having trouble understanding all the modules.

I'm really looking forward for the meeting on oct 28 .

I've recently added reCaptcha to my registration pages. If it hasn't already been covered before, and if anyone's interested, I can do a quick show and tell.

Hi all,

I really enjoyed last months meet and will be definitely there again.
I am interested in the recaptcha on user registrations.
Does this need to hack the core code?
Getting a few spam registrations on the site, so that would be interesting to hear about.

I would love to have a bit of a must have extensions lists.

For areas like,

eccomerce
social sites
forms
image galleries
movie players...
etc, etc...

But am up for anything...

I have a few things happening on this day now. If I can't attend I'll post the info on reCaptcha in the forum...

...And yes, it does require a hack to the registration component. Nothing too serious, and something that probably should be there anyway.

I have not been to a meeting in 5 months or something and alas I cannot make this one as well - I very annoyed as I have really missed them.

My excuse...I'm pregnant and Wednesdays at the office was tiring by the time I had done my 9 hours of work at the desk I couldn't contemplate making it to the meeting and actually staying awake! Next week I'm actually on holidays but I am definitely up for the November meeting!

I was going to add that reCaptcha had cut the SPAM registrations down to zero since adding it about a month ago, but I just got one today. ((

Still, one a month is a bit better than several a day!

I wonder if it was automated or human..?

@Jen: Congratulations!!! Exciting news. Look forward to hear more about it in November.

We don't have any prepared presentations so far. I am tempted to suggest a big troubleshooting meeting. Mixing the experienced with the less experienced and fixing up heaps of websites in one meeting. And then swapping every 15-20 min.

How does that sound?
