and the same thing for the rest of LAMP.

Thanks

P. S: thanks to all for recommending Joomla! by Barrie North, I bought it and I am studying it Now, it's easy to follow (I am not scared anymore)

Great you're in to the Barrie North book!

For CSS how about:
CSS: The Missing Manual by David Sawyer McFarland (Sep 2009)
CSS: The Definitive Guide Eric Meyer (2006)

You'll need to update yourself online once you've got the basics.

I find the w3schools.com/ a good reference for things I need to learn and use. I am sure there are many others.

Good luck - david

Hi Ariel,

My solution isnt free, but really the cost is negligible when you consider the benifts.
Try www.Lynda.com.
They have online video lessons. You could sign up for just a single month. About $30AU and you could do all the lessons you need in that month, plus more.

The video lessons are fantastic. They are clear and precise and dont go on with unnecessary info, while at the same time they dont get ahead of a newbie's fragile brain. (speaking about my own experience here).
I know this sounds like an add for them, but really, even between now and the last jmug meet, I have learned a heap about css xhtml and am working on other topics too.
I buggered around for ages trying to find something free and in the end bit the bullet and have never looked back... anyway really you could spend that much on a dinner.

just my thoughts though...

I have to go now and collect my spruking fee for lynda... (just kidding).

cheers,

anthony.

Yes - I actually agree about Lynda.com. I've had a look and I like the way they do things. They've also been developing a stream of Joomla tutorials this year, which looks promising.

Also, if you're a member here, you get 20% discount to joing lynda.com - see the voucher on our home page once you are logged in.

Any more feedback out there on training resources?

I am a big fan of Sitepoint - reference.sitepoint.com/css. Also, sign up to some of their newsletters - I learn something new every week and its an invaluable resource for me.
