TOPIC: New to Joomla

New to Joomla 2 years, 10 months ago #1801

Hi,

I am a drupal user but am not satisfied with the free themes and designs available as of now. I would like to shift to Joomla for the same reasons on my new websites. Can someone please tell me what are the issues I could face and how easy or difficult it would be? I am not a very avid designer and am only familiar with some basics. Also what is the reason many people rate drupal to be better than Joomla?

Thanks
Nicoleweslsh

Hi
I see no one has replied but this could be that, like me, they've never used Drupal, so to give an answer to your question might be difficult. If I was you I'd put "Joomla vs Drupal" into google and see what comes up - I'm sure this has been looked at by other people.
I've been using Joomla for several years now and think it is versatile and flexible and can do pretty much everything that I expect it to. There are learning curves involved, of course, but I think you'll get to know it pretty quick once you get started.
Hope you do the swap and enjoy!

My advise would be get the latest version of Joomla! from www.joomla.org and have a play with it. You could also get Joomla! from JumpBox - it acts as an virtual machine on your computer.

If you need to know more about Joomla!, do drop a visit at this month's meeting.
