TOPIC: Errors and no one to contact

Errors and no one to contact 3 years, 12 months ago #366

Hi All,
I guess this is the only way for me to contact anyone about an error on this site. I went to look at Perth User Group and it came up with an error on the page

Fatal error: Call to a member function get() on a non-object in /home/spikesys/public_html/jd/plugins/content/maxcommentbot.php on line 161

So I wanted to contact the administrators of this site, but there is no contact button???

If it gets fixed, will you let me know.
Thanks

lakotasouix,

Thanks for pointing that out, I'll log in and take a look at that after the Melbourne User Group tonight, unless Dex beats me to it... though temporarily turning off the comment bot plugins seems to have fixed it.

Let me know if the error's still coming up and what you did to create it.

We had previously added a contact form, but I don't know where it's gone again.

Hi

Yes, I have upgraded this site to Joomla 1.5.3 and MxComment does not work on the latest Joomla! version so I have turned off the comment bot. The comments system has remained unused since I put it on anyway.

Also, I turned off the Contact form in the menu due to the insane levels of spam it was generating. I will hook up a new Contact menu entry to link to a bug-fix area in this forum.

I admit that this site is often 'experimental' in that it has always been on the latest version of Joomla 1.5, since RC1. Sometimes it works well as a test bed and we find some Joomal and component errors! Thanks for reporting the error.

Sorry about the MX bug though, that ate all the menus! That was a nasty one!
