Hi, I started using Mambo several years ago and i didnt really know what power i had in my hands... Now the more time I spend with Joomla, the more I become aware that Joomla could be the most powerful open source CMS on the planet.

Hats off to the Joomla team

Hi ,

I am extremely excited !
I have just joined with group.
I have been in industry for 20 years (desktop publishing, programming, web design).

I have not been able to get the time until recently to do something meaningful with jomla.
I am loving it.

regards,

terry

Hi all,

I'm comparatively new to Joomla!, having been introduced to it when I attended the Sydney Joomla! day last year. Since then, I've started my own web design and hosting business, with development jobs all being done using Joomla!. My clients love being able to maintain their own content. I love working with Joomla!. Working with a couple of non-profit organisations, I'm also getting to try out some really interesting extensions that my other clients haven't needed.

Cheers,

airgead

Hi Everyone,:
Not sure if I am in the right section but I will have a try and introduce myself. OK I am an end user and new to Joomla but what a great way to run/maintain a website. The need came about for a website for my students to access my digital course content. As you may have figured I am a teacher...Secondary Technology teacher working in Adelaide but come from Tassie. Looking forward to lots of chatter about Joomla.
Cheers
dday

Hi I am A full time mature age Uni Student at La Trobe studying a Bachelor of Arts.
I am wanting to to set up a website for young up coming musicians to have the
information they needto take them to the next level without losing their uniqueness.
What I am envisioning is initially a 5 page site that has
links to music related busineses for solo artists or bands and information related to
promotion, marketing, and networking. I have no experience in Web
design or running a business and am looking for a mentor to guide me through the
process. Also have the website hosted on an ongoing basis. Potential Information could
be recording studios, business and life coaches, downloadable how to guides, stylists,
printers, potential performance guides... I have never used a site like this before
and would appreciate any help I could get thanks.

Hi!

I stumbled accross this site in one of my usual bug/solution searches for Joomla (A tinymce issues in 1.5.14 if I recall correctly). I'm located in Perth and I've been installing Joomla 1.5 on client sites for well over a year now.

I may come along to Dome @ Subi on Monday and say G'day

Cheers,
Brent

Re: Welcome to our budding community 2 years, 3 months ago #2482

This is fab! How come I can't find as friendly a joomla forum in the us?

I've been designing/consulting for over 12 years now and love the web and the work I do to help make it a more beautiful and useful cyberspace.

I've got a virtuemart cart (1.1.4 with joomla 1.5) that I've inheirited and I'm helping my developer trouble shoot some issues we are having with the interaction of child products/attributes, SEF, broken breadcrumbs and missing pictures.

The store is at www.pitchinforagoodcause.org/index.php/buy-gkr-souvenirs.html
take a look specifically at the womend boutique, chose a shirt size and watch what happens. I don't want it to do that but keep the child products for better inventory control.

Btw, if you can speak intermediate Geek, I'd appreciate it. I'm fairly fluent, but not hard core

I'm hoping this group can be of help. Let me know if you want me to repost in another section.

Hi there.

and welcome.
Well that's an interesting feature! Makes me wonder if you're using native SEF...?
